Praca Hirscha by³a szerzej opisana w „Forum Akademickim” w artykule Paw³a Misiaka (2005, 9, 57−9). H = 20 oznacza, ¿e 20. z kolei publikacja badacza, je¿eli uszeregowane by³y one w kolejno¶ci uzyskanych cytowañ, cytowana by³a nie mniej ni¿ 20 razy.
Najwiêcej prac dotyczy biologii i medycyny – 37; 16 prac dotyczy fizyki, a 10 chemii (niektóre zaliczane s± do wiêcej ni¿ jednej dziedziny nauki). Najwiêcej prac wchodz±cych w sk³ad indeksu H opublikowa³ Instytut Fizyki J±drowej PAN w Warszawie (15, co stanowi 25 proc. ca³o¶ci, choæ kilka z nich dotyczy zagadnieñ biologii). Istnieje problem z Instytutem Fizyki J±drowej im. Instytut Biologii Do¶wiadczalnej im.
Naukowcy, którzy opublikowali najwiêcej takich prac, to: Tomasz Dietl z Instytutu Fizyki w Warszawie – 4 publikacje; po 3 prace maj±: Marek Cieplak i Andrzej L. Sobolewski z Instytutu Fizyki PAN. Po 2 publikacje maj±: Ewa Chojnacka−Wójcik, Aleksandra K³odziñska, Agnieszka Pa³ucha, Andrzej Pilc i Ewa Tatarczyñska z Instytutu Farmakologii w Krakowie, Karol Grela z Instytutu Chemii Organicznej w Warszawie, Irena Hausmanowa−Petrusewicz z Instytutu Med. Do¶wiadczalnej i Klinicznej im. Mossakowskiego, Leszek Kaczmarek z Instytutu Biologii Do¶wiadczalnej im.
